“It’s so easy to get caught up in what you see online, but steer clear and stick to what you love! Your ideal client is most likely very similar to you, so choose things you would love receiving and they will love it too!”

What type of photography do you shoot? How long have you been in business?: Lifestyle Photography for Weddings, Families, & Children. Slowly growing since 2010.
When did you first join the Kraft & Jute family?: 6 weeks ago, and loving it!
What steps did you go through when creating your packaging? Any advice to photographers beginning to use packaging?: I started by searching every inch of Pinterest! There are lots of packaging ideas! I wrote down the details that I loved from each idea, and put together what worked for me! I love the rustic look of kraft and burlap, and I add touches of purple, pink and gold from my logos! It’s still a work in progress, but each product I give to a client is lovingly assembled and they really appreciate the effort!
My main advice for photographers getting started would be to stay true to yourself! It’s so easy to get caught up in what you see online, but steer clear and stick to what you love! Your ideal client is most likely very similar to you, so choose things you would love receiving and they will love it too! I make sure to always include something chocolate, because I wouldn’t want a gift without sweets in it!
Why do you feel that packaging is so important to your brand?: I have been struggling to get out of the “shoot and burn” pattern with clients. I really want my clients to do something with their images instead of just store them on the USB. So, I feel the packaging is an important aspect of the entire experience that I want to provide for my client, especially for my brides! When they sign a contract with me, they will receive the large welcome box full of tips and information (and candy)! Then when the wedding is over, they will get a box with a surprise champagne toast, their flash drive of images and their final album! The packaging just really makes the colors and feel of my branding stand out and show my clients why I am unique and of value!
Name your favorite Kraft & Jute packaging product that you can’t live without.: Presentation Packets (they are the cutest way to organize lots of paper and information!)
Best advice that you’ve ever been given in your photography career?: The best advice I’ve read is “use your personality to help sell your business.” In such a saturated field, it’s easy to get lost in the multitude of competitors, but if you stay true to yourself and let your personality shine, you will attract the type of clients you really enjoy working with! Use your assets to your benefit! If you’re bubbly and love bright colors, go with that vibe! If you love clean white lines and structured images, stick true to it! Building a brand around your true personality will convey a genuine image and help attract the clients you’re really dying to work with!
