What type of photography do you shoot? How long have you been in business?: Weddings & Portraits since 2008

When did you first join the Kraft & Jute family?: Its been a little over a year

What steps did you go through when creating your packaging? Any advice to photographers beginning to use packaging?: I wanted my packaging to reflect my brand and personality, so I searched for something natural and earthy and something that could be personalized. I use the Flash Drive delivery bundle and it has saved me so much time. The kraft color mixed with the wood flash drive are perfect. I like to add in a little treat and this is always changing, for awhile it was caramels, now its saltwater taffy. The muslin bags, ribbon and tags are from The Paper Source, the fabric flowers are from Michaels, and the custom stamps I bought on Etsy. I’ve always been into crafty stuff, so this part of my business is fun and comes easy to me. I have set aside a little space in my office where I keep all of my packaging items neat and organized and this makes it simple for trips to the post office. To photographers just starting to think about their packaging, I would start a pinterest board, look for similar colors in your brand and decide how much you want to spend. I worked on my pinterest board for months before I bought anything, I wanted to sit with it for awhile and make sure it was me.

Why do you feel that packaging is so important to your brand?: My packaging is representation of my brand, from the first folders sent to inquiring clients to the lasting impressions they will receive with their digital files. I want my clients to feel special, and to have something tangible they can keep. I want them to be excited when they receive a gift in the mail, and to hopefully share that excitement with friends and family. This leads to more business!

Name your favorite Kraft & Jute packaging product that you can’t live without.: Flash delivery bundle!

Best advice that you’ve ever been given in your photography career?: Learn how to say no and love what you do! Early on in my career, I was taking every job that came to me, and my work was all over the place, I was shooting, food, bands, headshots, anything! Don’t fill your portfolio with stuff you don’t want to shoot! Know who your ideal client is, and showcase these kinds of images on your website. My brand and website have images that reflect the type of weddings and portraits I want to continue to shoot. “Your work is going to fill a large part of our life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do.” – Steve Jobs
